Where to buy on Sal

How buying a house on Sal works
- Apply for a NIF number. Without a tax number in Cabo Verde you cannot buy property.
- Find the right property and view it on site. Check who the legal owner is and that the property is properly registered.
- Agree on the price and conditions, often in a preliminary contract.
- Sign the deed at a notary and have the property registered in your name.
- After the purchase: utilities, insurance, maintenance and, if you want, rental while you are away.
