Espargos is the capital of the island of Sal, Cape Verde (Cabo Verde), in the middle of the island next to Amílcar Cabral International Airport. Where Santa Maria is about the beach, Espargos is about daily life: government offices, the hospital, supermarkets, the market and most of the island's residents.
Things to do in Espargos, Sal

The market and shops: fresh fruit, vegetables and fish, and shops where locals buy, often cheaper than in Santa Maria.
Local restaurants: simple places with daily dishes and cachupa, away from the tourist streets.
